We were founded in 2002 by Tim Sutherland and work with clients big and small. Our guiding vision comes from our name. We are inspired by challenging convention and exceeding expectations through brave thinking, approach and execution.

Who We Are

Tim Sutherland
Creative Director
BA in Visual Communication
Monash University

As the founder of Studio Brave in 2002, Tim has carefully crafted the design studio into one of Melbourne’s leading branding practices. As Creative Director he overlays projects with strategic thinking and a brave approach. Over the 15 years he has built the studio around creating, developing and evolving effective brands. Tim has worked across all industry sectors and particularly enjoys the diversity this presents. Clients have included Levi’s, Crown Casino, Peter Rowland, Royal Children’s Hospital, CSR, ICON Developments, Moonlight Cinema, Netball Australia, St Kilda Film Festival (City of Port Phillip), Creative Victoria, Film Victoria, Regional Arts Victoria, Australian National Academy of Music and Melbourne & Olympic Parks.

Claudia Boman
Account Director

Claudia brings to Brave a wide range of agency branding experience with a focus on FMCG, Corporate and residential and commercial property development. Her client’s have included; General Mills, ALDI, Penfolds, One&Only Hayman Island, Mirvac, Lendlease, Gurner, Fridcorp and CBUS. Claudia also supports the team with client insight and industry knowledge that promotes intelligent and considered creative.

Jesse joined StudioBrave after gaining a wealth of experience at design studios across Melbourne, including SouthSouthWest where he worked with brands such as Nike and Google. With a strong digital design background, he is able to deliver considered and thoughtful design across all mediums.

Ella Johnston

After being awarded DIA’s Emerging Designer Award in 2010, Ella completed an internship at the prestigious Neumeister Studio in Stockholm. Following that she gained valuable branding experience with Canyon in the fields of property development, retail and hospitality. Ella also brings to us a strong digital background, and a passion for beautiful and intelligent conceptual design.

Thomas Tkatchenko
Digital Developer

Thomas is a multidisciplinary developer and programmer that specialises in digital experiences and creative coding with a focus on the internet and other emerging forms of communication. In the past he has helped EMI Records, Warner Music, Meredith Music Festival, Ansell, the Victorian DET, KFC and Mr Burger among others to develop their digital offerings. With an inclination towards good sense combined with lateral thinking he creates well built and unique solutions.
